Botox and Dysport injections

Botox was originally the commercial name given for injections derived from Clostridium Botulinum bacteria.  It is a known paralyzing agent but when injected into the muscles under the skin it works locally just to paralyse these muscles, less crinkling of the skin occurs and the result is a smoothing of the skin's surface.
Dysport is very similar and may have an advantage when previous injections of Botox have been used. It is very good for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating in armpits).

Side effects,
These are generally rare, minor and temporary. A full discussion will take place at the time of your booking but these should be considered:
The Four main ones are:

1) Paralysis of the wrong muscle group (<1%) but this is temporary.
2) Allergic reaction. (1%)
3) Bruising at the site of injection is a side effect of the mode of administration. (10%)
4) Slight swelling where the injection was placed, it is important not to massage these and the small bumps will disappear in a couple of hours.
